The Yamaha Super Teneré Raid Edition presents itself on the road as a true all-terrain traveler. Very comfortable, equipped with every comfort and with excellent equipment, nothing is really missing to compete with the most famous crossovers and above all to grind many kilometers.
The dashboard is reminiscent of the Spartan rally ones even if of modern conception. It is clearly visible in all conditions and the information for the rider is complete. The two-piece saddle is comfortable and adjustable by a few cm for taller or shorter riders and combines well with the wide handlebar both standing and seated. The only flaw is the adjustable windshield, the positioning of which is a bit laborious and must be done while stationary. The commands are immediate and can be found immediately. The capacious bags are very aggressive like the protections that surround them: from the generous plate that protects manifolds and frame to the side grilles.
HOW IS IT GOING
The suspensions are adjustable electronics, from the left block: you can adjust the setting of the fork and monoshock. The comfort on the highway (tested at the speed limits) is the best, also thanks to the cruise control, bags included that do not generate any nuisance. Once out of the boring section that separates us from the first climbs, we notice the softness of the Yamaha twin-cylinder, even if a bit slow to rev up and not exactly reactive. We arrive between the hairpin bends, where the size and wheelbase of the Teneré can be felt a little: but where it does not excel in the chassis, the twin-cylinder takes over to give the final blow to the brushstroke in the fold. Summarizing therefore the performances in the mixed, we can affirm that it is a definitely balanced vehicle, where chassis and engine compensate each other for those small imperfections that can be felt after becoming familiar with the motorcycle.
PROS AND CONS
The Yamaha Super Teneré Raid Edition is a high-level crossover, as denoted by the very aggressive aesthetic finishes, comfort and aerodynamic protection. The performances are in the average of the category and the consumptions are well contained. The only defects found are the slightly above average weight (287 kg detected!) And the adjustment of the windshield.
