While the Strada della Forra remains closed, here is a valid alternative to enjoy the neighboring areas without giving up the landscapes on Lake Garda.
From Limone sul Garda we leave for Tremosine and then reach Montecastello, a route that leads to the Forra road, which is still closed for works.

Alternative route to the Strada della Forra
From the A4 motorway we exit at Brescia east and take the East ring road (SS45 BIS) towards Limone sul Garda. The road takes us along the lake to Limone sul Garda.
Famous for its lemon houses, as well as for the extra virgin olive oil, here it seems that the life of its inhabitants is quite long. The village of Limone sul Garda is a delightful town on the shores of the Brescia coast of Lake Garda, with a splendid one lakefront, with a small marina, many narrow streets full of workshops and flowered windows and balconies with a splendid view of the lake. Don't forget a visit to the Church of San Rocco with its frescoes of the 500 and the Church of St. Benedict. In summer the beaches they are very crowded but perfect for a cool dip in the lake, especially after a long ride on the lake spectacular cycle path of Lake Garda.
After visiting the historic center, we get back on the saddle along the SP115 up to Tremosine. From tremosine we continue to take the SP115 until it becomes SP38 and we go down to in Pieve to stop on the terrace to admire the view.
We now take the Via Belvedere which leads us to Sermerius. From Sermerio we take Via della Libertà until we cross the SP38 again which will take us up to Montecastello, where we will stop to visit the Sanctuary of the Madonna of Montecastello, which stands on one spike of rock limestone overlooking the lake. Its privileged position offers unique panoramas: it ranges from the high peaks of Monte Baldo to the peninsula of Sirmione, enjoying all the landscapes that embrace Lake Garda. Recently restored, it is one of the most popular and well-known sacred places on Lake Garda given its architectural, artistic and scenic beauty.
After the religious visit to the Sanctuary, let's rethink the SP38 which will reunite us with the SS45BIS along Lake Garda.
