Recanati - the village of Leopardi

CONERO RECANATI MARCHE LEOPARDSFrom the music of our engines to the poetry of the famous Leopardi. It is advisable to discover Recanati starting from the eighteenth century Leopardi Palace, the poet's birthplace, still inhabited by his descendants today and located in the “Sabato del villaggio” square. From here a marked path leads up to Mount Tabor, the famous "hill of infinity" from which you can admire an enchanting panorama. Photo Recanati: by Claudio.stanco - Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0

Back at Palazzo Leopardi you can admire the church of Sant'Agostino: its bell tower is the ancient tower sung in the Solitary Sparrow. Continuing you arrive in the center, Piazza Leopardi, where behind the monument dedicated to the great poet stands the Town Hall. The building houses the Beniamino Gigli Museum, another obligatory stop: there are preserved costumes, photographs and relics of the great tenor from Recanati. In Recanati we also had the pleasure of trying the excellent and particular butcher / restaurant "Poetry at the table" and its Marche specialties in a family atmosphere with rotisserie and covered veranda. www.poesiaatavola.it.
