From Ancona to Recanati by motorbike, a splendid itinerary between sea, nature and culture to discover the Marche and the most beautiful villages.
Going south, the first encounter is with Monte Conero and its park, not stopping even for a few days or for an entire holiday would be a shame.
We recommend the Provincial Road SP1 del Conero which from Ancona crosses the entire natural park to Villaggio Taunus, where you then turn towards Castelfidardo and then Recanati.
The Conero Park is a park with a thousand facets, overlooking the sea, from its summit you can enjoy breathtaking views that sweep over the entire Conero Riviera, but also visit historical sites of particular charm and its splendid beaches where you can relax. summer. The Conero, whose mountain is 572 meters above sea level, is rich in stone quarries from which the white Conero stone was extracted, with which many buildings in the area are built. There are several corners to discover: from the cities protected by the mountain such as Ancona, Camerano, Sirolo and Numana, to the various paths that lead into the flora and fauna of the park, to the bay of Portonovo with its pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and its historical jewels such as Santa Maria di Portonovo or Torre De Bosis. Do not forget the true flavors of the area, such as the famous Rosso Conero wine, honey and oil. Photo monte Conero: by MassimilianoMorichi, Pixabay Free for commercial use
From the music of our engines to the poetry of the famous Leopardi. It is advisable to discover Recanati starting from the eighteenth century Leopardi Palace, the poet's birthplace, still inhabited by his descendants today and located in the “Sabato del villaggio” square. From here a marked path leads up to Mount Tabor, the famous "hill of infinity" from which you can admire an enchanting panorama. Photo Recanati: by Claudio.stanco - Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0
Back at Palazzo Leopardi you can admire the church of Sant'Agostino: its bell tower is the ancient tower sung in the Solitary Sparrow. Continuing you arrive in the center, Piazza Leopardi, where behind the monument dedicated to the great poet stands the Town Hall. The building houses the Beniamino Gigli Museum, another obligatory stop: there are preserved costumes, photographs and relics of the great tenor from Recanati. In Recanati we also had the pleasure of trying the excellent and particular butcher / restaurant "Poetry at the table" and its Marche specialties in a family atmosphere with rotisserie and covered veranda. www.poesiaatavola.it.
