The Fittanze Pass is located on the border between the province of Trento and the province of Verona. The itinerary connects the Lagarina valley with the Bosco Chiesanuova area, up to Verona.
The proposed itinerary is quite long, but the places you meet make up for the time spent in the saddle. By proposing the departure from Verona, we recommend organizing a nice weekend so that you can visit Verona first and then leave for Trento from there.

Itinerary
From Verona we reach Parona and take the Valpolicella road, surrounded by countryside used for vineyards. In Sant'Ambrogio we take the secondary road towards Parish church of San Giorgio, with an obligatory stop to visit the most important church of Lessinia, a XNUMXth century Romanesque building.
Another recommended stop is in the locality of Monte to visit the remains of the Austrian fort dating back to the nineteenth century, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Veronese countryside and the valley of the Adige river.
The road climbs narrow and slow between fields and woods, until it reaches Pit where an alpine landscape awaits us. From here we go up to Fittanze step, at 1399 m from where we can enjoy the view of the mountain characterized by a series of sharp peaks, the famous Ala saw. We reach the Lessinia mountain hut to refresh ourselves with typical dishes not to be missed and then go back. We turn towards Erbezzo for a digestive break and we finish our tour in Bosco Chiesa Nuova.
The Fort of Monte
Also called strong Mollinary, was built by the Austrians between 1849 and 1852. It rises in the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella in the hamlet of Monte. Today it is in a state of neglect, but the panorama on the Montegne sull'Adige is unparalleled.
