The 3,6 hp increase in maximum power for the engine EURO5 of the new X-ADV and the maximum rotation speed increased by 600 rpm are the consequence of the extensive development work of the Honda designers, who have intervened on the timing of the distribution and on the efficiency of intake and exhaust. In addition, the first three gears of the gearbox have closer ratios, to favor sprint and recovery, while the fourth, fifth and sixth prefer fuel efficiency at higher speeds.

The throttle is now Throttle By Wire (TBW) and brings as a dowry 5 Riding Modes: STANDARD, RAIN, GRAVEL and SPORT, plus fully customizable USER mode. The traction control HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control), now provides 3 levels of intervention and the possibility of deactivating it. Furthermore, the DCT dual clutch gearbox (Dual Clutch Transmission) offers gear shift programs integrated into the Riding Modes.

Thanks to frame redesigned and the numerous redesigned details, the overall weight is reduced by 2 kg. The design has a more decisive and aggressive look, thanks also to the front split headlight unit now equipped with DRL daytime running lights, just like on the Africa Twin.

For greater ease of placing the feet on the ground, the saddle has been reshaped. The compartment saddle pad is larger and has a charging socket USB-C. In addition, the parking brake control has been moved to the handlebar, freeing up space in the rear of the shield for a practical lockable glove box. The instrumentation is also completely new, with 5 inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity for the activation of voice commands via theHonda Smartphone Voice Control system.
