1. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

The TRACER 9 GT + is the first Yamaha to feature an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system, an advanced system that offers all the benefits of cruise control plus the ability to automatically maintain a fixed distance from the vehicle in front.

With conventional cruise control, if the rider gets too close to a vehicle in front, he or she will have to deactivate the system or apply the brakes, automatically disengaging the system. With the new ACC system, however, a millimeter wave radar integrated constantly measures the distance to the vehicle in front of the TRACER 9 GT+. ACC automatically controls cruising speed, deceleration and acceleration to suit road conditions. The ACC is adjustable and, when the motorcycle is in motion, the driver can select one of four distance options safety according to your preferences.

In addition to maintaining a pre-selected safety distance, ACC also has a function of cornering assistance which prevents the increase in speed when the system detects that the bike is cornering and, if the radar detects a vehicle in front, it also limits the level of acceleration.

The ACC overtaking assist function allows the TRACER 9 GT + to accelerate more smoothly when it detects that the motorcycle's turn signal is on and the motorcycle is about to overtake.

The new Unified Brake Assist with Radar Link (UBS, Unified Brake System) offers greater control capability using data from millimeter wave radar and the 6-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) to assist the driver and regulate braking forces, via the Bosch hydraulic unit that optimizes control of the braking system .

In the unified braking system with radar link there are three main elements that only come into operation when BC (Brake Control) is activated. First, brake assist intervenes when the system detects that a collision is imminent. Second, Front / Rear Brake Assist adjusts the braking forces on both wheels for stable deceleration. Third, the cornering brake control automatically adjusts the braking force to prevent tire slippage as the bike is tilted.

2. New 7-inch color TFT display

TRACER 9 GT + riders can choose between three different screen themes with the new high-brightness color TFT display. Each screen theme conveys a different feel and adapts to different driving styles and personal preferences. With options offering a clear and modern look, essential sporty style or a visual identity inspired by Yamaha's Jin-Ki Kanno development ideal, there's a graphic theme to suit every rider.

In all three themes, the ACC is positioned in such a way as to allow the driver to immediately see the set distance and the selected speed.

3. New connectivity for smartphones

For an enhanced driving experience, smartphone connectivity on the TRACER 9 GT + comes standard. A Communication Control Unit allows riders to connect their smartphone to the bike using Yamaha's free MyRide app. The connection can be made via USB *, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth® and, once connected, the rider can see information about incoming calls, emails and messages on the TFT instrument panel. The driver and passenger can also listen to music and answer calls with a headset * connected via Bluetooth®, adding a new dimension to any journey, whether it's long trips or short distances to work.

The TRACER 9 GT + also allows you to access a range of menus and functions using the new ergonomic controls on the handlebars, and when the bike is not moving, a range of information is displayed on the new high-brightness 7-inch TFT display, from weather forecast to notifications.

4. New Garmin full screen navigation

Garmin full screen navigation can be easily installed. All the rider has to do is connect their smartphone via the free MyRide app and download the Garmin Motorize app **. A full-screen navigation window can be opened on the connected TFT instrument cluster and the driver of the TRACER 9 GT + can choose between different types of routes, such as fastest, shortest, motorway and more. In addition, it can receive detailed voice instructions through a headset * connected via Bluetooth®. The map data is downloaded to the smartphone. This means that the driver can still access navigation even when the smartphone field signal is momentarily lost in some areas.

Navigation features include real-time traffic information, estimated time of arrival and alternative routes to avoid traffic jams. Other useful features are the distance that can be traveled with remaining fuel and real-time updates that display local weather information, as well as the weather conditions of the chosen destination and weekly weather forecasts.

5. New electronic shifting system of 3a generation integrated with ACC

Unlike traditional navigation control systems that deactivate when a rider uses the clutch or shifts gears, the TRACER 9 GT + allows you to shift gears using the 3's new electronic shifting system.a generation even when ACC is activated.

This state-of-the-art new Sport Tourer is the first Yamaha to be equipped with 3's electronic shifting systema generation that offers an even wider range of features, allowing you to downshift without using the clutch to a lower gear or one gear. For example, if the motorcyclist is driving with ACC activated at 100 km / h with 6th gear and is automatically slowed down by a car in front, he can downshift a gear to adapt to the reduced driving speed without the ACC is deactivated. Likewise, when riding downhill with ACC in a lower gear, the rider can shift into a higher gear to reduce the engine brake without losing ACC.

6. Semi-active “KADS” suspension with integrated KYB electronic control

The TRACER 9 GT + features the most advanced electronic control technologies available on any stock Yamaha motorcycle, underscoring Yamaha's commitment to the Sport Touring category. The next generation electronically controlled suspension system (KYB Actimatic Damper System) was developed in collaboration with KYB and is designed to deliver thrilling sports performance and an extremely comfortable ride.

This fully integrated suspension system is governed by the 6-axis IMU system which monitors various sensors and automatically adjusts the damping forces via the hydraulic unit (HU) and the suspension control unit (SCU). The system can be set in Sport or Comfort mode and is able to adapt to a wide variety of driving styles by constantly adjusting the damping forces to suit the driving conditions. By analyzing the IMU data, including lean angle and acceleration of the bike, this sophisticated suspension system offers a high ride quality with unmatched road holding and allows you to experience strong emotions. The level of safety provided confirms the TRACER 9 GT + as Yamaha's quintessential Sport Tourer.

The TRACER 9 GT + features a sophisticated D-Mode (engine maps) which is now fully integrated with the bike's 6-axis IMU system and a range of tilt-sensitive rider assistance systems. Previously, the D-Mode worked completely separately on the various electronically controlled electronic pilot assistance systems and individual adjustment was required.

This new system is more intuitive and much easier to understand and use. The motorcyclist has the possibility to choose one of the four integrated riding modes: “Sport”, “Street”, “Rain” or “Custom”. All work together with D-mode, traction control, skid control, wheelie control and hydraulic brake of the electronic suspension, to ensure greater ability to control in different driving situations.
