Here is the new Benelli Little lion 800, unveiled at EICMA 2019, Gianni Monini, sales manager for Italy, talks about it.
A real evolution for the modern-classic of the Pesaro company, which now presents a balanced mix of classic and modern styles with the most advanced engine of the range, 754cc, both in the standard version and in the trail version.
Little lion 800 it shows its muscles compared to its smaller sisters, presenting itself with much harder and more sculpted shapes, capable of enhancing power and dynamism, with a compact yet slender silhouette and with extremely balanced proportions. In the pure elegance of the lines and in the modernity of its style, Little lion 800 expresses all its essence and uniqueness, while maintaining the iconic elements of the Leoncino range. In fact, even in the 800cc version we find the stylistic element of the bow, which characterizes the whole range and which is faithfully reproduced both in the headlight and in the tank. Elements and details that at the same time are also the most advanced compared to the 250cc and 500cc versions, but which connote a clear sense of belonging to the typical Leoncino style, while maintaining its own family feeling.
The “off” version, the new one, could not be missing Leoncino 800 Trail, a motorcycle with a typically off-road vocation, enhanced by the double high exhaust and the 19 "wheel at the front, which enriches the range of the Pesaro with a proposal designed to emphasize the authenticity of the concept that is the basis of the Leoncino line. A “modern-classic” two-wheeler that becomes sporty and dynamic, in an all-round evolution, yet capable of sharing avant-garde technical and stylistic elements with the road 800.
The engine is the 754cc two-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, also proposed on the Leoncino 800, capable of unleashing a power of 81,6 HP (60 kW) at 9000 rpm and torque of 67 Nm (6,8 kgm) at 6500 rpm, to ensure maximum performance and fun even off-road. The distribution is double overhead camshaft, 4 valves per cylinder, double throttle body with a 43 mm diameter. The clutch with torque assist and slipper function is in an oil bath, the 6-speed gearbox.
