Ouarzazate

On the road between Marrakech and the desert is the largest of the cities in the pre-Saharan oases of Morocco. In the XNUMXs it became a garrison of French colonialism and in the XNUMXs it became the movie set where films set in exotic, remote or no longer existing locations such as Tibet, ancient Rome or Somalia (hence the nickname of Ouallywood).

Of the many kasbah that you can visit in Morocco that of Taourirt is the most impressive and one of the best preserved. 5 km from the center of Ouarzazate there is an unmissable attraction for all cinema lovers: the Atlas Film Corporation Studios, the first film studios opened in Ouarzazate. Almost all tours from Marrakech to Ouarzazate or even further south to the desert offer one stop in Aït Benhaddou, a magnificent kasbah 30 km from the city that seems to arise out of nowhere.

Tizi n'Tichka

Tizi n'Tichka (literally: pass of the pastures) is the mountain pass of Morocco, which connects the southeast of Marrakesh to the city of Ouarzazate through the chain High Atlas Mountains. It is located between the great plain of Marrakech and the gateway to the Sahara desert. Even snowfall is possible from November to March but it can be hot all year round.

Marrakech

It is not essential to have a guide to discover the red city, especially the Medina of Marrakech, maps will be able to guide you perfectly. The markets are interesting and each alley is dedicated to a typical local craft where you can also watch the manufacturing process of the various products. If you get lost don't worry, in fact, it could be fun.

The Medina of Marrakech is the geographical and spiritual heart of the red city: built in 1070 by the Berber dynasty of the Almoravids, it is bordered to the south by the gardens of the Koutoubia Mosque and in its center it has the magical and teeming with life Djemaa el Fna square .

We also recommend that you visit the Marrakech Museum, where works of Moroccan art and sculptures of both contemporary and traditional art are housed, the Dar Si Said Museum, where the oldest object in Marrakech is exhibited, and the Bert Flint Museum where costumes, jewelery and furniture from the past are on display. What about the wonderful Koutoubia mosque, the Koubba Ba'adiyn, the oldest building in the city, the Ben Youssef Medersa, the El Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs? Absolutely not to be missed! If you want to relax a bit, the Jardine Majorelle and the Menara Gardens are the right places for you!

Motorcycle Tours and Rentals

Due to its strategic location in the heart of the country, Marrakech is an ideal base for exploring Morocco with a rental motorbike. In a short time you can reach the mountains, the sea or remote cities where time seems to have stopped. There are many rental companies, including theItalian company HP Motorrad which also organizes a tour for women only, and many other specialized tour operators. If you don't want to risk surprises, we always advise you to contact well-known and well-reviewed companies that can give you assistance also and above all during the tour.

The roads are well paved and there are many off-road routes that are easy and accessible to all, but if you prefer to be accompanied directly from Italy, you can organize yourself with various tour operators who take care of both the transport of the motorbike and the rental on site, as well as all on-site assistance, such as hotels, meals and many other activities or visits.
