Historical and touristic notes:

The scene of numerous battles during the First World War, today the Rolle Pass was chosen by the Guardia di Finanza as the location for two barracks and also the seat of the SAGF, Alpine Rescue Guardia di Finanza and the mountain stay of the Fiamme Gialle. Survival and training courses are also held for both the official students of the Academy and the financial students of the Predazzo Alpine School of the Guardia di Finanza. Boasting multiple stages of the Giro d'Italia, in summer it is frequented by countless cyclists, while in winter, thanks to its facilities, it is accessible to skiers.

Hikers from the pass, the starting point for ascents on the Pale and on the group of Lagorai, can quickly reach the lakes of Colbricon, places of settlement of hunters in the Neolithic and the Val Venegia, one of the most beautiful naturalistic areas of Trentino.

Itinerary:

Let's start with Predazzo, direction SS50 that going up in a not too demanding way takes us up to lake of Panaveggio, inside the Paneveggio-Pale di San natural park Martino. The lake is suitable for swimming, but beware of the temperatures, we are already at 1.500 m asl! The road is surrounded by woods and mountain pastures and is a true immersion in nature.

There is no shortage of rest areas from where you can admire the peaks of the group of Pale di San Martino. Leaving the pass, we continue to take the SS50 which offers us a serpentine path up to San Martino of Castrozza. Another pause to visit this famous mountain tourist resort and then we continue up to Tonadic, half of ours itinerario in Val Cismon, from where we can take the SS347 to go and make other curves towards the Passo Cereda.
