In Arrone, in Umbria, at the gates of the Valnerina, just 6 km from the surprising Marmore waterfall from 13 to 21 November 2021, there is “Amor d'Olio”: the event dedicated to taste itineraries and sensorial experiences.
The village of Arrone (Tr), pearl of the Valnerina, located on a rocky hill along the left bank of the Nera river, just 6 km from the surprising Waterfall marmore, the highest in Europe, finds its origins at the end of the XNUMXth century when the Roman nobleman Arrone took possession of the promontory and built a fortified castle, the first nucleus of the town.
It is a place of strong charm, not only for the medieval aspect typical of many villages Umbrian, but for the environmental context in which it is inserted. The Nera River Park abounds in waters, trees, animals and strikes the imagination for its intense green. Roman mills, medieval monasteries and hermitages, industrial archeology buildings, such as the lignite mine in the hamlet of Buoncquiring, surround, together with the silver olive trees, to Arrochar, which is a "hill castle", like the others that guard the area. Thanks to the practice of organic farming, the Arrone area offers quality products: extra virgin olive oil, truffles, legumes, freshwater species such as trout and shrimp. Berries abound and honey is excellent, not to mention pecorino cheese and the famous butchery of Valnerina.
It is to celebrate the gastronomic excellence, above all the extra virgin olive oil, the landscape and the cultural emergencies of the small village, that from 13 to 21 November 2021 the Municipality of Arrone proposes "Amor d'Olio - itineraries of Taste and Love ”an event that is part of the event circuit Open Oil Mills in Umbria (30 October - 28 November frantoiaperti.net).
